Lit Quiz

Last night, 65 teams flocked to our school's flat floor hall for the 2017 Lit Quiz Regionals (Waikato and BOP), and it was an intense and epic night. The quiz started at 6:30 and finished at 9:30. Southwell entered 2 teams, Southwell 1 and Southwell 2.
I was a part of Southwell 1 along with; Alice, Max and Ellena.
Southwell 2 consisted of; Ben, Joanna, Charlie and Caitlin. The results for both teams were:
Southwell 2 finished in 7th place with 75 points.
Drumroll please................... and Southwell 1 finished in a whopping 1st place and received a cheque of $1001! We were over the moon! It was a great night filled with lots of fun, craziness and energy and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Prompt: Sandwich   Battery   Energetic   White   Hurried Drip. Drip. The ceiling spits down at me, disgusted. Mouldy floorboards creak under my stride, and wispy cobwebs cling onto my cheeks. A soft pattering fills my ears as I move closer and closer, squeaks and shuffles; the air filled with it’s curious cacophony. White. A flash by me in an instant, gone in a millisecond. Battery charged and energetic, a tiny menace hurried in it’s pace. An empty silence swallows the room, dragging it down into the depths of soundless doom. One step. Then another. Closer and closer still.... A mouse pops into view, teeth gnawing away at a stale sandwich .

Prompt: flame, swimming, celebrated, white, tomorrow I lit my candle on that night. A lonely flame , swimming in the haze, radiating warmth. An outcast, apart from a sea of light. I sit alone, away from the mass of people swathed in a colourful array. White . Enveloping me, folds and creases holding me tight. Dirty. Purity stained with the grime of the streets, a rat, I sit hunched on the steps, arms wrapped around my bloodied knees. Floating, bobbing in the waves, an offering set out to the world beyond, a beacon in the dark. Tomorrow , this light will be celebrated . And I will light my candle.
