Self Evaluation - P.E fitness programmes

I think that our group managed to produce two effective fitness training programmes for P.E in Term 3. The length of our programme was a bit short, but it was full of intense areas, but also a lot of essential recovery time in between. Our programmes definitely served their purpose, to enhance the skills and health/fitness levels of a netball player.

100 Word Challenge

Prompt: My breath catches in my throat as I approach the site. Evidence spills out across the concrete, as a peculiar contraption lies shattered amongst it. A colourful disaster, a failed attempt. Curious, I edge closer. Fingers reach out to caress it’s smooth, reflective face. I feel a sharp edge dig into my gloves, and I wince, but continue. My feet carry me to the colourful array before me, and my knees give in to the ground. I cup it in my hands, turning it over and over in my palms. Turning away, I reach towards my toolkit and collect my evidence.

100 Word Challenge....

Prompt: So what lies ahead of.... I stride through the trees, leaves crunching under my uniformed boots, heart pounding. And freeze. I see her, staring at The Wall, towering above. Fists clenched, I watch, as she launches herself through the air, arms flailing. Her body clings to The Wall as she climbs. Up higher and higher. She waits, crouched low on the roof of The Wall. An eerie glow catches her face as she turns. Slowly, slowly. I feel her gaze fall upon me, like a burning knife slashing through the darkness. I watch, as she rises, jumps, then catapults herself into the night.

Consideration

What consideration means to me: To me, consideration means being respectful, and considering, thinking about other people and their views and feelings. Things I can do to show consideration:  -  Say "good morning" and "hello" to people as they pass  -  Think about what I say and do, after considering the other side of the situation.  -  Holding the door open for people who are carrying things/ need help/ or just because it's nice.

Show not Tell

Fingers flaking, the searing lips of the sun lean over, brushing, scorching. Brown. Brown like the bark of the willow. It's crumbling skin tumbling to the earth. Tongues arching, bending, gently caressing the landscape. A steady stream flowing, banks bursting, engulfing, threading it's way through the maze of grain. Rippling. They shuffle, one foot after the other, imprisoned by the chains of their suffering.

David Hill

This afternoon, we had David Hill come and talk to us about his career. David Hill is an accomplished New Zealand author who has published many successful books in his time as a writer. He has been an author now for about 30 years, publishing books such as; See Ya Simon, Enemy Camp, Sinking, My Brother's War and First to the Top. Today, David talked to us about his career as an author, his backstory, his books and what they mean to him. I particularly enjoyed when he read us a short story he wrote about Valentine's day. It was hilarious! Afterwards, we asked him some questions. He explained how most of his books are based on things himself or others have experienced. For example; See Ya Simon is based on a time when his daughter's best friend died at a young age, in high school. I really enjoyed reading this book, as it is really heartfelt and emotional. Another example is; My Brother's War, which is based on his great uncle Fred - and his time in the war. At the en...
